Overlord references the light novel and anime where Ainz Ooal Gown, an undead skeleton wizard, ends up ruling a fantasy world he was supposed to be logging out of. Seven hundred fifty thousand yen per minute, the highest sub-million rate in the game. Forty-five million per hour. The cosmetics lean into that Ainz aesthetic too, robes, dark magic styling, the whole death-magic-overlord visual kit. This is the last tier where you can pretend the economy is approachable, the next class breaks past million-per-minute and stops feeling human-scale.

How Overlord fits into your progression

Overlord is short and meant to be short. The Hokage upgrade is the single most important purchase in the entire mid-game because it's a 6x rate jump, 750K to 4.5M, and once you pay it your accumulation rate jumps so far ahead of your spending that the late-game opens up overnight. Sit at Overlord longer than two days and you're leaving real yen on the table. Best Overlord routine is mechanical. AFK overnight, daytime stat pushing, don't get drawn into alt-strategies or side projects, just buy Hokage when the bar fills. The game pays disproportionately well for milestone-tier upgrades and Hokage is exactly that kind of milestone. Treat Overlord like the lobby before the boss room.

Questions about Overlord

Why is the Overlord-to-Hokage jump so big?

Hokage is a milestone tier (a 'tier line' shift in AFSE pacing). The game rewards milestone tiers with disproportionate rate bumps to keep progression interesting.

Is there anything Overlord-specific to do?

Not really. Treat it as the last room before the big door.
