What the developers said
Posted to the official AFS: Endless Discord (#announcements) by a developer on September 3, 2026, to all 236,000 members:
“Unfortunately, we're unable to continue working on AFSE.”
“We're currently working on a brand new anime simulator called Anime Legends Simulator. This a new project that weve been working on for the past few months and are very excited about, and we're aiming to have it released this September.”
“We know this isn't the outcome everyone was expecting, but we genuinely believe the projects we're working on now will make the wait worth it as we have a very talented development team onboard!”
No reason was given, and no date was given for the game going offline.
What this means right now
- The game is still online. AFSE is playable on Roblox as of September 6, 2026. Only development has stopped.
- No more updates. The last content update was Update 7 (Dimension 3) on July 1, and the last patch was v5.544 on July 7. The game has not been touched since.
- Codes still redeem, but no new ones are coming. The July 7 patch shipped the final batch. Every code on our codes list still works according to the trackers that re-check daily, so redeem what you have not redeemed yet.
- Purchases. Nothing has been said about refunds or transfers. Spend Robux in AFSE only for what you will use now.

Where the players went
The statement gives no reason, but the numbers around it are hard to miss. AFSE was built as a continuation of BlockZone's original Anime Fighting Simulator, which had been offline. On June 13, 2026 BlockZone brought the original back, and it has shipped an update almost every week since (Update 8.5 on September 6). Checked at the same moment on September 6, the original had about 8,900 players in game and AFSE about 170. AFSE's own update feed went quiet after July 7.
If you want the same kind of game with an active update schedule, the original is the obvious place to go. It is a different game with a different team: nothing from AFSE carries over.
Anime Legends Simulator: what is known

FAQ
Is AFSE shutting down?
Development has stopped, but no server shutdown has been announced. The September 3, 2026 statement says the team is unable to continue working on AFSE; it does not give a date for the game going offline. As of September 6 the game is still playable on Roblox.
Do AFSE codes still work?
Yes. The code trackers that re-check daily still list the July batch (Dimension3, Kaido, Enel, QuestsFixedNow and the rest) as working as of September 6, 2026. No new codes are expected: the last ones shipped with the July 7 patch.
Will my AFSE progress or gamepasses transfer to Anime Legends Simulator?
Nothing about transfers has been announced. Treat any purchase in AFSE as a purchase in a game that will not be updated again.
What is Anime Legends Simulator?
The AFSE team's next game, described in the statement as a brand new anime simulator they aim to release in September 2026. It is not out yet and has no codes. Three other Roblox games already use some version of the name, and the codes lists you find today all belong to one of those, so check which game you are looking at before pasting anything.
Is AFSE the same game as Anime Fighting Simulator?
No. AFSE (Endless) is a separate game by a separate team, made as a continuation of BlockZone's original. The original Anime Fighting Simulator came back on June 13, 2026 under BlockZone and gets weekly updates (Update 8.5 landed on September 6). It is where most of the player base went.
