Shinigami is the second Bleach reference in the class lineup, the Soul Reapers, the death gods who run Soul Society. Two and a half billion yen per minute — since the Update 3.75 rebalance, this is where the class ladder first crosses the billion-per-minute line. One hundred fifty billion per hour. The Bleach Shinigami theme here is the high-tier evolution of the Reaper class you wore back at rank 6, the same shihakusho aesthetic but with the bankai-released visual upgrades, more elaborate sword effects, more aura, more presence on screen.

How Shinigami fits into your progression
Shinigami is the rank where the endgame stat grind dominates everything. The 1T fee behind you, yen goes back to being a non-issue. The real questions are whether you've cleared the Hollow (the 5T Durability zone), whether the final stat-area locations are unlocked, and whether all four of your champion slots are filled with S+ tier. At this rank the game stops handing out new toys and starts asking you to use the ones you collected over the past hundred hours. Hashira is the next class and another 3x bump, which is meaningful even at billion-per-minute rates — though its 6T fee means another long wallet climb, about 40 hours of AFK. The slow part of the grind is over but the work isn't done, just redirected.

How long to grind from Sage to Shinigami?▾
The yen alone is about two days: Espada's 82.5B fee is ~9 hours of AFK at Sage rates, then Shinigami's 1T fee is ~33 hours at Espada rates. The 100Sp stat requirement is the real wall — expect the stat grind, not the wallet, to set your pace.
